The Topeka West Football Alumni was formed back 2008 by members of the 1984-85 Charger football team.  What started as an event to get together with old teammates prior to our induction into the Topeka West Hall of Fame has blossomed into an annual event to help raise funds for Topeka West Athletics.  As we are all aware, funds are being slashed across the board and money for sports is lacking.  The goal of our fundraising efforts is to bridge the funding gap and help keep all athletics going at Topeka West.

We chose the name of the tournament to honor our coach, Frank Walton, to show our gratitude for the lessons he taught us on and off the field.  We are now in our third year, and we are growing.  In the first two years, we raised $9500 to help support the TWHS Athletics department.  We have raised money through donations and through our annual golf tournament.  The money raised has helped provide materials for the renovation of the men’s varsity locker room, new weight equipment, pre-game meals for the football team, along with helping to fund the Hall of Fame program.

So much more is needed and we need your help in reaching our goals.

We have stepped up our efforts for 2010 and are planning many fund raising activities besides the golf tournament.  Our goal this year is to raise enough money to provide the athletics department with a new scouting package (which can be used for all sports), provide materials to renovate the women’s varsity locker room, provide jackets for the golf team and help update in areas that will make the student athletes lives easier and more enjoyable.

To reach these goals we must raise a significant amount of money and need your help!
